The first Johnians Cricket Fiesta (2014)

The very first Johnians Cricket Fiesta was held in 2014, launching what has now become the school’s most celebrated annual sporting tradition. Organized by the Old Johnians Prefects’ Guild under the leadership of Thanuja Fernando, the tournament brought together alumni and students to compete for the Upali Suraweera Challenge Trophy. This inaugural season saw enthusiastic participation, created a strong community bond, and laid the foundation for future growth — proving that cricket could be a powerful force for unity, school development, and alumni engagement.
